Hey fellow KiCad PCB designers 👋

Today I thought I wanted to share a simple ”how-to” (idea came from recent tweets with @blind_via tbh).

If you had this error before it can be frustrating : if you have weirdly-shaped pads like this it’s often easier to make the pad a small https://t.co/oPP4TB0zo1

Rock on, I'm in!

I thought the almighty @fishPointer had forsaken me 🙏

My open source pcbs are still cooking. Work tease as my humble tribute for now https://t.co/DYPKryPBOi

tiny Rockchip SoC board we made at @CorvusRobotics to shove data from many cameras into a USB C

with only thru-hole, a irregular shape, and area smaller than RPi compute module, it had to be designed with elegance on the inside too

luckily it worked first try! https://t.co/HOJLbYjS1y

After playing factorio, ive started to use the silkscreen to draw borders around each section of a schematic and it makes PCBs so much more readable. U guys should try it.

w silkscreen borders no borders https://t.co/xpilZ7TJw1

Bros will be happy to hear that I switched from fusion360 ee (gross) to Kicad today. Was able to import all of my ~250 custom made jlcpcb packages (devices I guess) and get a good Kicad parts DB stood up. Now all I need is a dark mode for schematics before I kms.

I really dislike making symbols in KiCAD. Feels like such a waste of time - definitely something computers can do for us

So I made https://t.co/mQCpI3QNT4 - just released - very new still
it's free

1. Choose your part
2. Get your symbol a couple minutes later

Insane aliexpress pull. Some 70KV high voltage silicone cable with an absurd insulation thickness to get that high voltage rating. https://t.co/vv5bsnm5Ud

Routing complete. Very good progress for one night.

Now just to resolve silk to solder mask design rule errors, one final review, then manufacturing. https://t.co/IiHkkrd9gX

Here is the smallest blinking NFC board that I have built.
Of course it includes a @sparkfun qwiic connector as should be mandatory on every PCB.
If I can fit it on this design you really have no excuse for not including it. https://t.co/UtxkEKY9wQ
