Get our Dagbanli welcome doormat to make your home more inviting in a way you’re familiar with.

Ni a Paabu Na is a formal Dagbanli greeting to welcome a person. It translates loosely to “Greetings for your arrival”. https://t.co/ldtZtbZ6DG

Common Polite Expressions:

¿Cómo estás?
¿Puedes ayudarme?
¿Qué quieres?
Formal (usted)
¿Cómo está usted?
¿Puede ayudarme?
¿Qué desea?

💡 Tip:
Adding “por favor” and “gracias” makes both forms more polite.

Past vs Future (side by side)

⏮️ Past (Preterite):
Hablé con ella
(I talked to her)
⏭️ Future (Near Future):
Voy a hablar con ella
(I’m going to talk to her)

Same verb. Different time. HUGE power. ⚡

When to use Near Future
Use it for:

✅ Plans
✅ Intentions
✅ Things you already decided
Examples:
Voy a estudiar español
(I’m going to study Spanish)
Vamos a salir esta noche
(We’re going out tonight)
If it’s planned → Near Future wins.

Conjugate “ir” (to go)

You only change ir, not the main verb.
Yo voy a hablar
Tú vas a comer
Él va a estudiar
Nosotros vamos a viajar
Ellos van a salir
The action verb stays in its base form.
