Poland’s problem isn’t weak planning—it's overplanning. High taxes, EU-level regulations, and endless compliance burdens inflate every price you see. A Pole isn’t poorer because he works less. He’s poorer because the state takes a slice of everything he buys.

Wherever the state tries to “steer” the economy, it eventually steers it into mud. Politicians see a thriving market and assume they caused it. Then they interfere, regulate, and “manage,” until the dynamism dies. Prosperity doesn’t need managers — it needs absence of managers.

The narrative that China’s dual-currency or capital controls are the source of its success is pure technocratic fantasy. These tools distort prices and misallocate capital. They didn’t create prosperity—they survived only because real entrepreneurship kept the machine running.
