The first six days of each week are given to man for labor, because God employed the same period of the first week in the work of creation. On the seventh day man is to refrain from labor, in commemoration of the Creator’s rest. - Patriarchs and Prophets, p. 111

In John 17, Jesus prayed for one specific thing for us: Unity. Not just getting along, but being "one" as He and the Father are one.

How do we reach this?

1. Truth: We are sanctified by His Word (John 17:17). Unity without truth is just a club.

2. Citizenship: We must live

Paul exhorts the Philippians to "let your conduct be worthy of the gospel of Christ" (Phil 1:27). The Greek term politeuomai suggests living as citizens of a heavenly kingdom. This citizenship demands a specific character:

- Humility: Opposing the pride that fuels division

Our most powerful weapon, when used with wisdom, is the "sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God" (Eph 6:17).

Ultimately, only God can bring truth to human hearts; we are merely instruments in the Lord's hands to fulfill His purposes. https://t.co/9VCT8OHU4J

When men and women can more fully comprehend the magnitude of the great sacrifice made by the Majesty of Heaven in dying in place of humanity, then the plan of salvation will be exalted, and reflections on Calvary will awaken tender, sacred, and lively emotions in the Christian https://t.co/OR2arNZPK7

Through their good works, the followers of Christ are to bring glory, not to themselves, but to Him by whose grace and power they have acted. It is through the Holy Spirit that every good work is performed, and the Spirit is given to glorify, not the receiver, but the Giver. https://t.co/5ArhKG6LpO

It is dangerous to praise or exalt human beings, for if anyone is led to lose sight of their entire dependence on God and to trust in their own strength, they will surely fall.

Human beings are struggling with adversaries stronger than themselves. It is impossible to win this https://t.co/hJTxJ2TJFs

Paradoxically, the more a person’s actions resemble those of Jesus, the less they are loved or valued by some (2 Timothy 3:12).

Nevertheless, the faithfulness of Christians is perhaps the most powerful way to glorify God and reveal the truth of the gospel (Philippians 1:7). https://t.co/7h7BJl5j8G

Christ will never abandon the soul for whom He died. A person may leave Him and be overcome by temptation; however, Christ never turns away from the one for whom He paid the ransom with His own life.

If our spiritual vision were quickened, we would see those living bowed down https://t.co/lenKVlzJms
