When you accidentally fossilize a frog.

I knew it was large.

I was told ~125-150 lbs.

Do you think the crating accounts for the extra 195 lbs? ๐Ÿ˜†I'm suddenly less motivated to move it. ๐Ÿ˜‚ https://t.co/YnOhcsf3OH

Brewing some crystalline nano particles for a composite. Aged 24 hrs at room temp, 12 hrs at 50 C, 12 hrs at 70 C and then 24-48 hrs at 90 C.

Excess alkali silicate in solution to buffer particles from agglomerating and growing. https://t.co/n7LBn4lAME

Brown Waterglass experiment looks amazing. Local dirt, local colour.
This is real geopolymer.
No slaked lime here. https://t.co/kErfZ1ciYR

Two-stage ceramic pour.
Inner core: perlite fully coated in ceramic gel โ†’ lightweight insulation + thermal buffer.
Outer skin: pure ceramic gel โ†’ strength + abrasion resistance.
Wet-on-wet bond = no seam, no crack.
This is how you make a kiln breathe, not break. https://t.co/bN4BCvP7bb

I put the Brown waterglass precursors together today. Added a little over a kilo of etched river sand. If I waited any longer the kaolin portion would have turned solid. Also added some graphene/whey to the egg mold samples https://t.co/P4RpLdAG4Y

Going to try a fusion melt on the TiO2 next. Grok suggests molten KOH should be able to make soluble titanates. https://t.co/QR4YvPGNlY

OK so the phosphoric acid oxide contstraint sample is in the oven.
Place your bets in the poll below.๐Ÿ‘‡

Testing the oxide constraint theory @benmagelsen has postulated. Using TiO2 as the constraining oxide in a system with no metakaolin, calcium, or phosphorus. I think we are on to something. It is still plastic & going in for more cooking. https://t.co/RVCZ9gMa3G

Into the oven at 80ยฐC, in a sealed oven bag with a damp paper towel to prevent drying of the samples during curing. Samples have sat overnight in a sealed bag with damp paper towel. https://t.co/o2x36XObnB

There have been many assumptions in studies asserting aluminum occupies a tetrahedral site in the oxide lattice.

Measurements on a porous material after drying does not necessarily provide the original coordination when the material was formed in an aqueous environment.

Testing the oxide constraint theory with TiO2 and zero metakaolin. Extra diatoms added to bring it to a paste consistancy, binding 50gram fine sand. https://t.co/GHn6mJH0Mm

I am about to embark on a biomorphic porous silica sidequest. I aim to utilize wood's perfect structure as an armature for my minerals & then remove the wood via calcination. Then treat porous silica with aluminosilicates 4 geopolymer-like activation & re-cure 4 strength https://t.co/EFuPaSriEQ

For a trial mix design and after decanting the colloid above, I re-dispersed settled particles with a high-shear blade. After the remainder settled overnight, this stratification appeared.

My guess: the dark band is 200โ€“500 nm particles, just above colloidal size.

The surprise, https://t.co/oI4DndL5n4
