Monitoring the weather, especially Tropical weather. Not a pro met, but I have studied meteorology and followed the tropics for 30 years.

50+ yrs and 30+ tropical cyclones taught me weather radios can save lives. Get one with a hand crank & solar for outages and battery drains.
