With last nights trade of Brendan Donovan the Cardinals have opened up a 40-man spot

Chaim Bloom has been adamant all offseason that they are looking to add a Right handed bat

Logical order of operations would say that’s the last piece this offseason

I’m grading Chaim Bloom’s offseason an A+ this off season. He’s been transparent, honest, and forthcoming on his vision and how to quickly achieve that by offloading salary and acquiring more bang for the farm. In doing so, he accumulated 6 picks in the top 86 this coming draft

Bloom reiterated today that if Donovan makes it to camp it’s very unlikely he gets traded. “Once we make it to camp we just want to put our heads down”

The Cardinals opted out of their deal with Fanduel TV on the 9th and are currently not tied to any TV/Streaming provider.

They basically have two options:
1) Return to Fanduel on a reduced rights fee
2) Go be part of MLB in-house production

If Fanduel doesn't exist next

Really interesting wording today from Chaim Bloom during his KMOX interview, especially around Donovan.

My one takeaway from the interviews I listened to today. The org seems very connected right now, it seems like everyone is on the same page all the way from Chaim to the minor league players.

The name of the game with Stanek is durability and strikeouts. He’s pitched 55 games or more every season since 2018. He’s also a career 10.4 K/9 guy. Walks and hits may be an issue, but the Cardinals have had success with these types of guys (Kittredge, Maton) in recent years.
